The Road to Veng Viang
Today was another travel day... what was to be 5 hours in the bus turned out to be 7. We can't complain too much though. The scenery was awe-inspiring - a bad road cutting through mountains of granite with lush green foliage and exposed cliffs. Tiny villages popped up every now and then, all of which seemed to be populated mostly by livestock and naked children. Because of some small scuffles in the countryside in recent years, we were accompanied by a man with a machine gun. The chances of him needing to use it were very slim, I'm sure, but you can't help but peer into some of that forest looking for the ambush. We arrived just an hour ago in Veng Viang, a tiny little town on the river and from the looks of it, not much to do other than bike out to some caves, explore the river on a tube, and laze around some more. The odd thing is, there is an entire street of bar/restaurants showing "Friends". No kidding - probably 8 different places that we have gone past so far... all with Ross' whiny voice drifting out to the street. I think we'll go check that out. We'll be posting some pics once we have some....

Sheeeeeit... Rollin' wit' all that cash, ya'll should be strapped wit' machine guns too. Watch yo' back playas... stay up. Peace.
Oh don't you worry - one we get to the DMZ in Vietnam, they let us western tourists throw on some AK's and go a few rounds. From what I've been reading, it's quite a popular tourist activity. Nice, huh?
